Looking Around – Stop-Motion ShortCloseMy role on itLooking around is a Stop-Motion Short created by Sara Fiechter at the HEAD of Geneva. The short represents the journey throughout her mind in search of inspiration from her interests.
For this project I was responsible for the creation of all the sounds, from the recordings until the final mix. The short is heavy on Foley and the Sound Design is really a big part in making the piece sound surreal.

Horizon Zero Dawn
Horizon Zero Dawn – VFS Final Sound Design ProjectCloseMy role on itThis is my final Sound Design project that I have done as result of my year at the Vancouver Film School. All the rights are reserved and belong to Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe and Guerrilla Games.
I was responsible for all the sounds replacement from the recordings, to the editing and the final mix as well. For the Sound Design I decided to use Kyma in creating part of the creatures sounds. It was as well my first time doing ADR with a child, it wasn’t easy but I learned so much from it. I also edited the music that I choose and was provided by 5Alarm. This one here is a Stereo Fold Down of the original 5.1 Surround mix that I have done in a Dolby certified theater.

Hostile Inn
Hostile Inn - Episode 2CloseMy role on itHostile Inn is part of an episodic series created by some students at the Vancouver Film School. It is a psychological thriller about a mysterious murder that happens in the Hostile Inn right as Eliza, the new owner, arrives back in to town. This unfortunate occurrence puts Eliza in a dangerous position and back into the eyes of the storm.
For this collaboration with the film students I edited the music, recorded the ADR, performed and recorded the Foley session, as well as mixed the dialogue and the music. This film was mixed in 5.1 surround format in a Dolby certified theater, with an ICON Mixer D-Command using multiple systems connected via Satellite.

Shift 2: Unleashed
Shift 2: Unleashed – Waves Test PackageCloseMy role on itThis was a test project with the goal of creating a piece of sound design with a limited amount of audio assets and 24 hours of time at disposal. The video is a courtesy from EA and it was originally used in a Sound Design competition organized by Waves. All the rights for the video are reserved and belongs to Electronic Arts.
When I first approached this task I decided not to use any normal engine sounds for the cars, instead I heavily experimented with the Kyma software in creating the core of my Sound Design. Along with that I added some SFX to give some more details but I wanted to keep the whole piece sounding more unrealistic and different. All of this trying to keep the trailer interesting to watch.

Teto – Breakdown
Teto – BreakdownCloseMy role on itThis is a breakdown of the Wwise project that I created in order to implement the sounds in the game. Teto is the result of a collaboration that I did between the Sound Design and the Game Design campus of the Vancouver Film School.
In this video I show how the Wwise project is structured and basically how the audio system behave within the game. We created all the sounds based on the two main states of the game (Light and Dark), based on that everything changes, from the music to the background sounds. We played a lot with the ambiences, creating them in surround in order to involve and immerse as much as possible the player in the world.

Dynamic Dialogue System – Wwise ProjectCloseMy role on itIn this video I present a project that I did as an example of a basic dynamic dialogue structure for a racing game.
I started recording the actor’s performance and subsequently I edited and processed all the recorded clips. Once completed, I implemented them in Wwise and created the dialogue structure to fit the required functionality. I divided the recorded clips in two main different locations and I processed the sounds differently according to the situations.

Teto: Outrun the Dark
Teto: Outrun the Dark – GameplayCloseMy role on itTeto: Outrun the dark, is a 3D third-person puzzle platformer for PC where you play as a light spirit trying to revive a dead world back to its former state. This game is developed by some students of the Game Design program at the Vancouver Film School.
My main role for this collaboration was to create the Sound Design, recording the Foley and the voices. I have been also part of the implementation between Wwise and the Unity Engine. I was responsible to lead a team of three other Sound Designers and I was the point of contact with the Programmers and the Game Designers. Creating the sounds for this game was fun and interesting, especially because it was something that I had never done before and it taught me a lot regarding how to better work with a team of developers.

Car Chase
Car Chase – Car Engines SFX EditCloseMy role on itThis is an editing project where I had to create all the SFX related to the car chase, the car engines and other sounds in order to make the chase as engaging as possible. The video is provided by our instructor at VFS.
For this project I edited all the sounds for the two main cars present in the chase and the related SFX, considering all the details such engine sounds, tire skids, tire squeals and various metallic sounds for the body of the car. This video is the finished SFX edit session and has not been mixed.

City Soundscape – Wwise projectCloseMy role on itThis video shows a project that I did on Wwise in which I created a soundscape of a city that changes over time.
For this project I recorded the assets needed for creating a soundscape of a city, such as cars-bys, different traffic recordings, rain and thunder. Afterwards I implemented those sounds in Wwise and structured them accordingly to the appropriate behaviours using RTPC.

Shutter - Episode 2 BlindedCloseMy role on itShutter is part of an episodic series created by some students at the Vancouver Film School. It is a Thriller-Mystery where Caroline, the protagonist, finds herself involved in a religious cult as she meets Lester, who uses aura photography to get rid of the impure, as her husband gone missing.
For this collaboration with the film students I recorded the sounds on set, created the sound design, as well as edited the sounds in post production.

This scene left me with a lot of possibilities in creating the sound design for it, I decided to take a more dreamy approach playing a lot with reversing sounds, delays and reverbs.

Random Music Machine – Max MSP PatchCloseMy role on itThis Max MSP Patch is an interactive virtual music machine. It allows the user to change all the parameters and create their own saveable presets. It also includes a button to randomize all the instruments and parameters.

World of Warcraft
World of Warcraft – Music EditCloseMy role on itThis project is an audio replacement of the original trailer but only with music. The whole piece is created to demonstrate how important the music in a trailer can be and how a different music choice can change the emotional response to it. The following music is provided by 5Alarm.
For this video I choose between different music samples that I later edited together, in order to achieve the desired result and set an emotional tone to the trailer.
